You may already be familiar with why and how to create occlusion passes in Maya for your compositing work. If you have reflective materials in your scene, you may have noticed that the occlusion pass is not seen in the reflected image in reflected materials.
It’s a small thing, but if it is the focus of your scene, getting the occlusion to be seen by the reflective material will really help bring the scene’s realism up.
Here, I will show you how to create more realistic output by showing us how to get the occlusion pass to be seen in reflective materials in Maya.
I am using Mental Ray in this tutorial, and also shows how to deal with bump mapped materials when rendering occlusion passes for your compositing work.
