Watch the first course to this Production Pipeline: http://www.digitaltutors.com/tutorial/2226
Animated shorts aren’t normally made by a lone artist. They’re created as a collaboration between multiple artists using many different software packages. Our short ‘Daydreamer’, a CG/Live-action hybrid is no exception and we’re pleased to be able to take you through the process we used to create the final piece.
MODO, MARI, and NUKE were a major part of the pipeline for this project, in addition to programs like Maya, Houdini, and Renderman. Through this series of courses, you’ll learn about all of the different steps involved. You’ll learn about building and preparing the characters and environments using MODO’s great modeling toolset.
You’ll learn about rigging and animating those creatures, rockets, and giant robots. You’ll go through the process of texturing the models in MARI and creating great looking renders of the alien landscape using Renderman. You’ll finish up by learning about color grading the footage and compositing everything together in NUKE.
